Neil Patel of Pronet Advertising has yet another great writeup on Web Analytics. I last side-noted his article on analytic solutions for blogs and now he has published a new article on the more advanced statistic solutions. The article goes over Google Analytics and Omniture, two products that are designed to provide rich detail for helping you improve your sites.

Just a quick note that Virb, a new social network that’s got me excited, has launched today. I was accepted into the private beta a couple months ago and its really come a long way. It’s beautifully designed, has great iTunes integration, and has got a little bit of everything in there. Perhaps what I like most is how customizable the profiles are. Be sure to check it out!

swfIR is a new Flash replacement technique that replaces and adds visual effects to images on the fly using simple JavaScript. It’s similar to the the popular Flash text replacement technique, sIFR. You can, without physically editing an image, set borders, shadows, alpha transparencies, blurring, rotation and more to any image on your website. Pretty neat! (via Mike Davidson)
