CCleaner is a application that will help clean up your system. It is small in size and packed with features. It can clean Windows or seperate Applications. This is useful because maybe I just want to clear the Temporary Internet Files or Cache for Internet Explorer and Firefox. It also categorizes all the applications that it can clean by the type of applications (Multimedia, utilities, Internet, etc).
CCleaner is a freeware system optimization and privacy tool. It removes unused files from your system - allowing Windows to run faster and freeing up valuable hard disk space. It also cleans traces of your online activities such as your Internet history. But the best part is that it’s fast (normally taking less that a second to run) and contains NO Spyware or Adware! :)
It also has a neat feature called, Issues. Issues is a scan that will search for problems with the registry, fonts, missing DLL files, Installation and Help files, etc. It’s nice to be able to run a scan to check on issues such as those. It also has a built in Cookie manager so you can browse though a list and see what ones do not wish to remove during a clean scan.
Lastly are two other features that I loved to see. It includes an area to Uninstall applications and to remove items from the Startup. Ever since Solution Watch, I have installed hundreds of applications and it clutters the system and sometimes leaves some system trays behind that need removing. So CCleaner was a dream because it saved a great deal of time for me.
